Collado Villalba Celebrates International Dance Day with a Month of Activities

The Department of Culture, in collaboration with local schools, organizes free galas, masterclasses, and exhibitions throughout April.

The Department of Culture in Collado Villalba has organized an extensive program of activities to commemorate International Dance Day, celebrated on April 29, featuring local schools and free events throughout the month.

The program, designed to highlight the municipality's talent and the variety of dance styles taught, will kick off with an opening gala. This event will take place on Saturday, April 11, at the Carpa de Malvaloca starting at 6:00 PM. Admission will be free, and it will feature groups such as Los Adisgüeros Dance (Adisgua Foundation), Escuela de Baile Duende, Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza (EMMD), Escuela de Ballet Marina Arnal, and Studio 23.
Activities will continue on April 17 with a series of free ballet and contemporary dance masterclasses offered by the Escuela de Ballet Marina Arnal at the Municipal Theater. Subsequently, on April 20 and 29, Studio 23 will present a display of various disciplines outdoors, starting at 5:30 PM, on Honorio Lozano street 35.
On Thursday, April 23, students from the Escuela Municipal de Danza will perform at the main entrance of the Casa de Cultura. The following day, Friday, the Escuela Marina Arnal will offer a 'bournonville stage' ballet and contemporary dance class at the entrance of Malvaloca.
On Saturday, activities will move to the Jardines de Peñalba starting at 6:00 PM with the Art in Movement exhibition, which will include different dance styles. Finally, on April 28 and 29, the Escuela Duende will showcase its work in the Plaza de los Belgas, 6, with performances beginning at 7:00 PM on both days.
