The Collado Villalba City Council has organized an extensive program of sports, cultural, and recreational activities to celebrate Family Week, featuring events such as the III Family League, the Mordida Fest, and a Traditional Pilgrimage.

To mark Family Day, celebrated on May 15, the local council aims to raise awareness about the fundamental role of families as a core unit of coexistence and to promote values such as education, personal development, and good habits. Although proposals will extend throughout the month, most of the programming will be concentrated between May 10 and 17.
Among the most prominent activities is the III Family League, a sporting event taking place on Sunday, May 17. Starting and finishing at the Town Hall Square, it will offer two routes of 5.6 km and 2.8 km through the streets of Villalba Pueblo. In addition to children's races, there will be entertainment, music, and paella, as well as a visit from the Star Wars Royal Guard. Registrations, limited to 500 participants, will be open until Thursday online and until Saturday in person. Part of the proceeds will go to the ONG Almapura, which supports the education and health of disadvantaged children in India, and the association TEAMO (TEA Madrid Oeste) will also be present.
Another central event is the Mordida Fest, a fast-food gastronomic festival to be held at the Carpa Malvaloca from Thursday, May 14, to Sunday, May 17. This festival will bring together various food trucks with diverse culinary proposals based on the 'fast food' concept, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The event will include a children's area, tables, ambient music with live DJs, themed photocalls, raffles, and live entertainment.
On Friday, May 15, coinciding with the feast day of San Isidro Labrador, a Traditional Pilgrimage will be organized in the municipal educational and leisure gardens, located on Adelfas Street. The day will begin at 12:00 h with the inauguration and blessing of the gardens, enlivened with traditional music and free tastings of lemonade, sangria, and doughnuts. Gardeners who enjoy a municipal plot will share their provisions and celebrate the patron saint's day with traditional music until 18:00 h.
The program also includes a concert by the Municipal School of Music and Dance Band on Wednesday, May 13, a violin concert and the play Donde nacen las palabras on Friday, May 15, and a family excursion to the Valsaín and Boca del Asno Interpretation Center on Sunday, May 24. Additionally, during May and June, the La IAIA association will organize a meeting space to learn and perfect the art of knitting.

The local administration has highlighted its commitment to families, noting that the city is recognized as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City and that a new measure to support birth rates has recently been implemented, offering aid of 350 euros to all families who have, adopt, or foster a child or baby.
