Collado Villalba hosts the thirteenth edition of the Good Practices in Coexistence Conference, an educational event centered on emotional well-being and intergenerational interaction.

The City Council of Collado Villalba, in collaboration with educational centers and various local entities such as Aldeas Infantiles, Asociación Candelita, Cruz Roja, Adisgua, and the Asociación la IAIA, is organizing the 13th Good Practices in Coexistence Conference. The event, scheduled for next May 28th at the Peñalba Cultural Center, aims to solidify its role as a space for reflection for the educational community.
Under the motto inspired by Eduardo Galeano, 'Mucha gente pequeña, en lugares pequeños, haciendo cosas pequeñas, puede cambiar el mundo' (Many small people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world), this year's conference will focus on emotional well-being and promoting intergenerational coexistence. A distinctive feature of this event is that the students themselves will take center stage, directly explaining how they foster cooperation and conflict resolution in classrooms.
The program will kick off at 4:30 PM with the reception of attendees and the official inauguration. Throughout the afternoon, round tables will be held with the participation of local educational centers such as CEIP Miguel Delibes, CEIP El Enebral, CEIP Cañada Real, CEIP Rosa Chacel, CEIP Tierno Galván, IES Jaime Ferrán, and IES María Guerrero, as well as invited institutes from the Community of Madrid. Essential topics such as child and adolescent mental health, inclusion, gender equality, and the prevention of school bullying will be addressed.
The event will also feature an exhibition of intergenerational crafts by the Asociación la IAIA and a display of posters on alternative educational activities in high schools. The musical finale will be performed by the choir of IES Jaime Ferrán, followed by a coexistence snack offered by the City Council.
Attendance is free until full capacity is reached, with prior online registration required through the municipal website. The 'entrance fee' will consist of a voluntary donation of non-perishable food items for families supported by Aldeas Infantiles.
