This weekend, Collado Villalba comes alive with the 19th Regional Houses Gathering, an event open to all audiences held at the Malvaloca Tent. Organized by the Citizen Participation Area of the City Council, the celebration will bring together the regional houses of Galicia, Andalusia, Extremadura, and Castilla y León to share their traditions, folklore, and gastronomy.
The opening day, Friday, May 29, begins at 7:00 PM with the tent's opening, followed by a parade from the Parcor Building to the Malvaloca Estate. After the official inauguration at 8:30 PM, performances will include regional dances from Castilla y León (8:45 PM), the Coro Ajolí of the Casa de Andalucía (9:30 PM), and the Coro y Danza 'Jara y Retama' of the Casa de Extremadura (10:15 PM). The evening concludes with a tasting of Burgos black pudding and Castilian lemonade offered by the Casa de Castilla y León.
On Saturday, May 30, the gathering features a concert by the group Agua y Sal at 1:30 PM, followed by a tasting of 'patatas revolconas' with pork cracklings from the Casa de Extremadura at 2:30 PM. In the evening, the program includes a flamenco performance by the Casa de Andalucía (8:45 PM), the Rondalla 'Trigo Verde' from the Casa de Castilla y León (9:30 PM), and the 'O Son do Ar' Bagpipe Band from the Casa de Galicia (10:15 PM), offering empanada, mussels, and 'queimada'. The night will close with a concert by The Angels at 11:00 PM.
Sunday, May 31, kicks off at 12:45 PM with the Coro de la Hermandad del Rocío and a dance demonstration to the rhythm of 'dulzaina' and 'tamboril' from the Casa de Castilla y León (1:30 PM). Following this, the Casa de Andalucía will offer a tasting of 'salmorejo' and 'rebujito' (2:00 PM). The event's grand finale will be the Grand Popular Paella organized by the Collado Villalba City Council at 2:30 PM, while supplies last.
All scheduled activities are free of charge, inviting all residents and visitors to enjoy the cultural diversity offered by the region.
