This decision stems from the need to accommodate more residents, given the growing public attendance experienced as the Spanish national team progressed in the competition.
Since the start of the World Cup, the City Council had installed a giant screen at Plaza de la Estación for residents to follow the matches. What began as a modest gathering during the group stage has progressively become a large-scale event.
Plaza de Los Belgas offers a greater capacity, able to hold between 10,000 and 12,000 people, compared to the approximately 8,000 that Plaza de la Estación can usually accommodate. The mayor, Mariola Vargas, emphasized the event's significance, calling it "a world event."
