The Dehesa Boyal in Collado Villalba will be the venue for the IV Conference on Forest Fires and Aerial Work on the upcoming June 5th, coinciding with World Environment Day.

Organized by ATAIRE, the Association of Aerial and Emergency Work, and the municipality's Department of Environment, the conference will offer the public an up-close look at forest fire extinction efforts.
During the event, which runs from 10:45 AM to 5:30 PM, there will be demonstrations featuring amphibious planes and helicopters. These aircraft will perform a fire extinction simulation, dropping water over the dehesa to showcase the techniques used in combating fires.
From midday onwards, the Dehesa Boyal will open its doors to the general public. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with the fire helicopters and learn firsthand about the aviation sector dedicated to emergencies, which intervenes annually in thousands of forest fires across Spain.
A special invitation has been extended to all students from Collado Villalba and the Sierra de Guadarrama to attend in the morning and learn about these vital tasks for forest conservation.
As part of a preceding school campaign, talks will be given in schools and institutes about the importance of forests and fire prevention, led by environmental education professionals and pilots.
The program includes the welcome of authorities at 10:45 AM, water-dropping simulations starting at 11:00 AM, and the opening to the public for helicopter visits at 12:00 PM, with a free photographer available for attendees.
