On September 9, 2026, the Hoyo de Manzanares City Council will relaunch the School Path program for the 2026/27 academic year, offering 60 free spots for infant and primary students at CEIP Virgen de la Encina.

With the start of the 2026/27 academic year, the two routes of the School Path are reactivated, allowing infant and primary students of CEIP Virgen de la Encina to walk to school accompanied by monitors and fellow students.
The Department of Education is making a total of 60 places available to families, distributed across two routes. This free service aims to support family conciliation, reduce traffic congestion around the school, and improve the health of children and the environment.
The service will cover the entire academic year, from September 9, 2026, to June 18, 2027, following the official school calendar.
To participate in the program, children must be enrolled at CEIP Virgen de la Encina in the infant or primary stages. There are two routes with various stops to suit families' needs:
Route 1: Departs at 8:20 AM from Glorieta Joaquín Ruiz Jiménez, proceeding to the school via Calle Sobrante, Avenida de la Cabilda, and Paseo Francisco Ayala. Includes a stop at Urbanización Los Manantiales at 8:35 AM.
Route 2: Departs at 8:20 AM from Avenida de Madrid (near Callejón de Domingo Martínez), ascending to the school via Calle Hurtada. It has stops in front of the Día supermarket parking lot (8:30 AM) and at Calle Hurtada 22 (8:35 AM).
Registration for the School Path can be completed online by sending the application form and ID to joaquin.lopez@hoyodemanzanares.es, or in person at the Town Hall Registry Office (C/ San Sebastián, 4) from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
A separate registration form must be filled out for each child requesting a spot, along with a photocopy or digital file of the applicant's ID.
Upon registration, authorized parents or guardians will be added to a WhatsApp broadcast group to facilitate communication with the Department of Education and the monitors responsible for the routes.
