The Tres Cantos City Council has announced the expansion of its network of family support resources and programs, coinciding with the celebration of Family Day on May 17, which will include an intergenerational event.

The town of Tres Cantos has solidified its strategy of supporting families, offering a wide range of economic, educational, and social aid measures. The main objective is to ensure work-life balance, emotional well-being, and equal opportunities for all residents.
Among the highlighted initiatives, managed through the Department of Family and Equality, are subsidies of up to 1,000 euros for birth or adoption, specific aid for single-parent families, schooling support for educational expenses, and discounts on municipal activities. These benefits are complemented by socio-family guidance services, free legal advice, mediation, and psychological care.
In the area of work-life balance, the municipality promotes programs such as urban camps, sports colonies, cultural activities during holidays, and events on non-school days. Additionally, school support and psycho-pedagogical projects are developed in collaboration with educational centers, aiming for comprehensive and inclusive education. The Punto y Seguido program, integrated into the Local Suicide Prevention Plan, addresses emotional well-being with support groups and awareness workshops.
The municipal network also includes healthy leisure and youth participation proposals, with educational, environmental, and social skills activities promoted by the Vértice Youth Center. These resources will be joined by the future consolidation of the Familiteca, located in Paraninfo Park, a space designed to support parenting and shared learning.
The intergenerational Family Day event will take place on May 17 in the Plaza de la Familia, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The program includes chess, creative workshops, storytelling, inflatables, and environmental activities. There will also be social awareness spaces organized with local associations. As preliminary activities, a round table on early care will be held at the Municipal Auditorium and a training cycle at the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center. This programming is part of the activities for the 35th anniversary of Tres Cantos, seeking to foster coexistence and citizen participation.
