Tres Cantos is joining the ParticipaViva network, alongside 15 other towns in the north of the Community of Madrid. The primary goal of this network is to develop common strategies to enhance citizen participation and move towards more open public management models. The collaboration agreement will initially be valid for four years.
The network includes municipalities such as Alcobendas, Colmenar Viejo, and San Sebastián de los Reyes, among others. It aims to establish a joint strategy that facilitates resident involvement in public life through shared tools and the exchange of experiences.
Through ParticipaViva, the municipalities will coordinate actions to increase citizen participation. The work lines include designing specific activities, implementing shared resources, and disseminating successful initiatives.
“"This agreement will facilitate the creation of common strategies that foster resident involvement and contribute to building a more accessible and connected administration."
The agreement also promotes training initiatives in transparency and good governmental practices, aimed at both political leaders and municipal technicians, as well as citizens. The objective is to improve participatory processes with more effective tools and enhance the relationship between the administration and residents.
Periodic meetings will be held to define a common work plan, including objectives, specific actions, and evaluation mechanisms. The network also considers the possibility of incorporating new neighboring municipalities, thereby expanding the reach of citizen participation policies in the region.
