Tres Cantos Hosts Pablo Barbadillo Memorial Tournament with Over 500 Young Basketball Players

The seventeenth edition of the youth basketball event will take place from April 30 to May 3 at various municipal facilities, featuring teams from across Spain.

Tres Cantos is preparing to welcome over 500 young basketball players for the XVII Pablo Barbadillo Memorial Tournament, a youth basketball competition scheduled from April 30 to May 3 at various local sports facilities.

The event, organized by the Club Baloncesto Tres Cantos in collaboration with the City Council, will bring together 38 teams in the U14 and U16 categories, solidifying its position as a prominent fixture in the national youth basketball calendar.
This edition marks a milestone with the inclusion of the U16 category, allowing players who have previously participated in the tournament to continue their involvement. The competition will feature 26 U14 teams and 12 U16 teams, hailing from various regions of Spain.
Participating clubs include renowned entities such as Real Valladolid, Pinto, Rivas, Movistar Estudiantes, Patrocinio San José, Easo Basket Adarra, and CB Hospitalet.
More than 100 matches will be played across four sports venues: the Polideportivo de La Luz, the Polideportivo Miguel de Cervantes, the IES Ciudad de Columbia, and the IES Montserrat Caballé. The official presentation of the tournament will take place on April 24 at 8:00 PM at the Polideportivo de La Luz.
In addition to the intense sporting action, the tournament will offer parallel activities such as dunk contests, three-point shootouts, and speed challenges. The finals, held at the Polideportivo de La Luz, will be broadcast live by Basket Cantera television, featuring commentator Piti Hurtado.
