Tres Cantos Buzzes with Sports, Culture, and Family Events This Weekend

The Madrid municipality hosts the Hockey Patines Final 4, Sprint Triathlon, and a Commerce Gala, culminating in a Family Day celebration.

Tres Cantos is set for a weekend packed with free activities from May 15-17, including sports competitions, a commerce gala, and a large family festival.

The municipality of Tres Cantos will be the hub of activity from May 15-17, offering a diverse and free agenda for all audiences. Events range from high-level sports competitions to cultural celebrations and family leisure plans, marking the festivities of San Isidro Labrador and the International Day of Families.
The Laura Oter Sports Center will host the Final 4 of the Madrid U-10 Roller Hockey Championship on May 15 and 17. The top four teams in the category will compete for the podium in a day extending until 10 PM on Sunday, inviting families to enjoy grassroots sports.
On Saturday, May 16, the Fairgrounds will host the XXX edition of the Tres Cantos Triathlon, also serving as the Madrid Sprint Triathlon Championship. This event, with thirty years of history, is notable for its urban swimming segment and expects hundreds of participants, livening up the surrounding area.
That same evening, the Municipal Theater will host the Commerce Gala, organized by the Department of Commerce and Consumption, to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Tres Cantos. The event, starting at 8 PM, will honor 11 local establishments with performances and surprises. Entry is free until capacity is reached.
On Sunday, May 17, the Plaza de la Familia will be the main stage for the official Family Day celebration, organized by the Department of Family and Equality. From 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, there will be creative workshops, games, face painting, live music, and inclusive activities, including a sound-reduced space for individuals with sensory sensitivities.
Complementing the family day, the Association of Large Families of Tres Cantos (AFAN) will offer the informational series ‘Family, Your Best Company’ at 11 AM in the Cultural Center Auditorium.
The cultural agenda for Sunday includes the theatrical performance of Una madre de película (A Movie Mom), starring Toni Acosta, at 8 PM in the Municipal Theater. Exhibitions at the Municipal Library (Tres Cantos, a Storybook Town) and the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center (Pictorial Exhibition by Manuel March and Unison: Inner Journey by Leonor Prieto-Cabezas) will remain open until May 24.
