The Pequecinema festival in Tres Cantos has brought together over 900 primary school students from public and private educational centers, offering children's screenings and an open family session on April 19.

The latest edition of the Pequecinema children's film festival in Tres Cantos concluded with significant participation, gathering over 900 students from 4th and 5th grade of Primary Education. The screenings took place throughout the week at the Municipal Theater of the Adolfo Suárez Cultural Center, introducing young audiences to audiovisual language.
This initiative is part of the “Tres Cantos de Cine” cultural program, which runs throughout the month of April. Its main goal is to familiarize schoolchildren with cinema through age-appropriate content, thereby fostering their understanding and analysis of the medium.
The festival featured a carefully curated selection of five animated short films, both national and international, specifically aimed at children. The sessions were organized in collaboration with CortoEspaña, ensuring a high-quality and educationally relevant offering.
Among the projected titles are stories such as ¡Eureka!, which narrates the adventures of an extraterrestrial duo sharing knowledge across the universe; Yo voy conmigo, about a cat searching for a magical flower; and Carmen y la cuchara de palo, which explores the relationship between a girl and her grandmother through everyday learning. These works combine entertainment with a clear educational focus.
In this fourth edition, students from nine public schools and two private centers in Tres Cantos participated. The activity was held during school hours, facilitating attendance for all students from the involved grades and allowing them a cultural immersion in cinema.
As a complement to the school sessions, the festival will offer a screening open to the general public on Sunday, April 19, at the Municipal Auditorium. This session, scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, will feature a continuous program of short films for families to enjoy the cinematic experience together.
