The application period for these grants, aimed at families with school-aged children, opened this Wednesday, May 27th, and will run until June 25th. This year's call has been moved forward to streamline processing and ensure aid is disbursed earlier, facilitating financial planning for the start of the academic year.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the municipal electronic headquarters. The subsidies are intended for students registered in Tres Cantos, aged between 3 and 18, who will be attending the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), or Basic and Intermediate Vocational Training. Students with Special Educational Needs up to the age of 21 are also included and will receive a higher amount regardless of family income.
Requirements include the student and at least one parent or legal guardian being registered in Tres Cantos prior to January 1st, 2026, and remaining so during the application period. Applicants must also be up-to-date with their tax and Social Security obligations. The grant amount varies based on the educational stage and the family's per capita income, with figures ranging from 100 to 200 euros for Special Educational Needs.
Marisa Peña, the Councilor for Education, emphasized the municipal commitment to educational quality and alleviating the financial burden on families in Tres Cantos. The increased funding and earlier application deadline aim to strengthen this support annually.
