San Sebastián de los Reyes is preparing for its patron saint festivals, taking place from August 24th to 31st, with an enhanced security operation mobilizing close to 300 personnel.

The special operation, approved at the Local Security Board, will involve the Local Police and the National Police. Aerial resources such as drones and a helicopter will be utilized, alongside specialized units like canine and mounted police, various police vehicles, and speed radars.
The Local Police will deploy 21 vehicles, drones, a mobile radar, a canine unit, and advanced communication systems. Officers will be equipped with anti-riot gear and metal-detecting gloves. The deployment will include personnel from the Proximity, Security, Omega, and Judicial Police groups, supported by the Air Surveillance Service for preventive monitoring and intervention.
The National Police will add intervention units such as the UPR and UIP, as well as the Mounted Police. A helicopter will patrol the area on days with higher public attendance. Coordination will be key, working alongside Civil Protection, health services, private security, and other municipal services.
The health services will be supported by over 100 Civil Protection volunteers, who will have tents and assistance vehicles. SUMMA 112 will provide medical and technical staff, rapid intervention units, and urgent transport resources. Two field hospitals will be set up during the bull runs to facilitate care and coordination with the Infanta Sofía Hospital.
Special attention will be paid to preventing alcohol and drug consumption among minors, as well as monitoring for theft, robbery, and brawls. The Local Police will conduct breathalyzer and vehicle documentation checks. The operation also includes protective measures for minors and vulnerable individuals.
The ‘Vidrio 0,0’ campaign will continue to reduce the presence of glass containers and prevent incidents. Major events, including bull runs, concerts, and the fairground, will have specific security measures tailored to their attendance.
