The City Council of San Sebastián de los Reyes, in collaboration with the Community of Madrid, will inaugurate its own Consumer Arbitration Board on May 7, a service that will allow residents to resolve disputes with companies free of charge and without resorting to legal proceedings.

This new body, resulting from an agreement with the Community of Madrid, aims to bring the arbitration system closer to residents, eliminating the need for travel and offering a resolution mechanism with binding and executive character. Until now, citizens had to go to the Consumer Arbitration Board of the Community of Madrid to initiate these procedures.
Consumer arbitration is a procedure designed to resolve disagreements between users and professionals more quickly and economically than ordinary courts. The resolution issued by this board will be mandatory for both parties.
The headquarters of the new Consumer Arbitration Board will be located at the Lopillo Municipal Center, specifically at 9 Ramón y Cajal Street. This space will serve as a service point for processing applications and managing arbitration files.
The official inauguration is scheduled for May 7 at 12:00 PM, coinciding with the first meeting of the board, which will mark the beginning of its activities. With this initiative, the City Council strengthens consumer protection services, improving accessibility and efficiency in the provision of public services for its citizens.
