The operation, managed by the UTE comprising Urbaser and Padecasa, plans to mobilize over 5,600 working hours and double the number of professionals to reinforce the service during the celebrations. Actions will commence before the festivals begin and continue until their conclusion to restore normality in public spaces.
Work will cover an area exceeding 70,000 square meters, with particular focus on the fairgrounds, the municipal amphitheater, and the historic center. The deployment will include tanker trucks, compactors, mechanical sweepers, cleaning carts, and blowers, with a strategy to intensify efforts during peak activity and ensure post-event recovery.
New equipment will be introduced this year, such as hot water high-pressure washers, electric mechanical sweepers for sidewalks, and an electric sidewalk washer, complementing the existing fleet.
Regarding waste management, nearly 200 additional containers, with capacities of 800 and 240 liters, will be strategically distributed. Their placement will consider pedestrian mobility and the needs of residents and visitors during the busiest days.
This expansion of collection points is part of the special plan designed to handle the anticipated increase in waste during the festive season. It is noteworthy that San Sebastián de los Reyes recently received the Platinum Broom, the highest award from ATEGRUS, recognizing its organizational capacity in waste management and coordinated actions.
