The blaze started in a residence located on the fifth floor of a seven-story building. Upon the arrival of the Community of Madrid Firefighters, flames were already breaking through the facade, and the fire load inside was considerable.
Firefighters employed a dual attack strategy, both from the exterior using a ladder and from within the building, to control the flames and prevent their spread. Seven units from the Community of Madrid Firefighters, along with two commanders, worked on extinguishing the fire.
The SUMMA 112 attended to a total of eight people affected by smoke inhalation. Three of them required transfer to a hospital for further assessment and medical care, while the other five received treatment at the scene. None of the affected individuals sustained serious injuries.
Tres Cantos Civil Protection, Local Police, Civil Guard, and National Police also collaborated in the emergency response.
The swift intervention of emergency services was crucial in managing the fire, which significantly impacted the building's facade. The incident led to the partial closure of Avenida de Colmenar Viejo, a main city thoroughfare, to allow firefighters unobstructed access.
