On April 24, the town of Tres Cantos will host a specialized seminar on the analysis of metal failures in engineering. The event, organized by the Universidad Popular Carmen de Michelena, will take place at the Casa de la Juventud between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

This gathering will focus on how various failures in metallic materials have shaped the evolution of modern engineering. Historical cases of structural collapses in infrastructure and transport systems will be examined to identify recurring patterns in such incidents.

The session will delve into the technical causes that led to these situations, ranging from inherent material defects to errors in design or manufacturing processes. The objective is to extract applicable lessons for improving safety standards and methodologies in large-scale projects.

The presentation will be given by a doctoral candidate from the National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM), who will offer a technical perspective combining academic research with practical application. This activity is part of the training program of the Universidad Popular Carmen de Michelena, dedicated to disseminating knowledge in various fields.
