The Community of Madrid has formalized the awarding of contracts for the construction of 3,352 affordable rental homes, as part of the Plan Vive Solución Joven, aiming to facilitate youth emancipation in the region.

The Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, was responsible for formalizing these agreements, which will allow the construction of new residences in the capital and seven other municipalities in the region. The works have been awarded to three companies: DeA Capital, Avintia, and San José.
The homes will be distributed across Madrid capital (843 units in Valdebebas and Los Ahijones), Alcobendas (756), Arroyomolinos (365), Colmenar Viejo (332), Móstoles (308), Tres Cantos (303), Loeches (295), and Valdemoro (150). These developments are expected to be completed throughout 2026.
The program is specifically designed for individuals under 35, with the condition that the home must be their habitual residence and that they do not own another property. Additionally, the monthly rent cannot exceed 35% of the net annual income of the cohabitation unit.

"These are the first promotions of a specific initiative for young people within the Plan Vive, with the aim that they can start their life project without leaving the municipality where they grew up."

Priority will be given to applicants who have been registered or working in the corresponding municipality for at least three years. This phase is integrated into the Plan Vive, a public-private collaboration initiative that seeks to strengthen the regional affordable rental housing stock. According to Rodrigo, more than 5,200 homes have already been delivered in municipalities such as Alcalá de Henares, Alcorcón, Colmenar Viejo, Getafe, Móstoles, Navalcarnero, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Torrejón de Ardoz, Tres Cantos, and Madrid capital.
