The People's Party of Colmenar Viejo has released a summary of its governance over the first three years of the current legislative period. The political party highlighted actions taken in key areas such as the economy, administrative modernization through digitalization, improvement of public services, and the development of new infrastructure. The party recalled securing nearly 40% of the votes in the municipal elections and emphasized its work on a growth model focused on economic activity and the municipality's modernization.
According to the president of the People's Party of Colmenar Viejo, Carlos Blázquez, the municipal executive's objective has been to drive progress towards a city prepared for future challenges, without abandoning its historical identity and local traditions. In this regard, new commercial and business areas have been promoted in the vicinity of La Maquinilla and La Estación, projects aimed at fostering job creation and expanding economic opportunities.
The modernization of municipal infrastructure and the organization of cultural, sports, and leisure activities for various population groups have also been key points. Improvements have been made to sports facilities such as the Centro Deportivo Municipal Lorenzo Rico and the Ciudad Deportiva Juan Antonio Samaranch.
Economic management has been a fundamental pillar, maintaining budgetary rigor and financial stability to sustain a continuous investment pace. Approved budgets have covered areas such as mobility, environment, security, culture, sports, digitalization, local commerce support, social policies, and urban modernization.
The review also includes initiatives aimed at specific groups, such as the elderly, youth, and families, including the launch of the baby check program. Regarding digital transformation, new tools and citizen service channels have been developed, such as the website renovation, the incorporation of WhatsApp, improvements to incident management systems, the Virtual Tax Office, social media activity, and the eÁgora application.
Finally, institutional collaboration with the Community of Madrid for the development of future infrastructure has been highlighted, including new educational centers, a senior residence, a fire station, a health center, and a regional slaughterhouse. The goal is to continue attracting investments and economic activity for the municipality's development.
