The Colmenar Viejo City Council, in collaboration with the Madrid Pharmacists' Association and Cruz Roja, is organizing a Health Day on April 17 at La Casa de la Juventud to promote well-being and prevention among residents.

The town of Colmenar Viejo is preparing to host a significant Health Day on April 17. The event, which will take place at La Casa de la Juventud between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, is designed to provide all citizens with essential knowledge about prevention, healthy lifestyle habits, and health education.
This initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Colmenar Viejo City Council, the Madrid Pharmacists' Association, and Cruz Roja, aiming to empower the population with practical information to improve their well-being and quality of life. Healthcare professionals will be responsible for leading the various scheduled activities.
The Madrid Pharmacists' Association will offer workshops and information points focused on the correct use of medicines and disease prevention. Topics covered include improving treatment adherence through the Personalized Dosage System (SPD), detecting risks associated with polymedication, blood pressure control, and guidance on cardiovascular risk factors. Advice on photoprotection and skin care will also be provided, supported by a dermoanalyzer, along with diabetes education and tests to assess the risk of developing diabetes. Additionally, nutritional counseling and body composition measurement will be available.
For its part, Cruz Roja will focus on first aid training and emergency response. Their activities will include detailed information on stroke, its symptoms, and how to act in such cases. Recommendations for preparing a home first aid kit will also be given, along with training in the PAS (Protect, Alert, and Succor) protocol, providing clear guidelines for acting in accidents and correctly making a 112 call. These actions aim to strengthen citizens' response capabilities in critical situations.
The City Council emphasizes that this event is part of a broader municipal strategy to foster an informed citizenry aware of its health. The free-access event is open to all residents of Colmenar Viejo and aims to establish itself as a benchmark for promoting healthy habits in the municipality.
