Colmenar Viejo is preparing to celebrate its traditional Day of the Horse on June 6th, an event marking its 22nd edition, which will fill the Alameda esplanade with equestrian activities, flamenco, and family entertainment.

The Colmenar Viejo Equestrian Association, with the support of the City Council, is organizing this deeply rooted event, which will run from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The event aims to keep the spirit of equestrian culture alive while also offering flamenco performances and pony rides for children.
The day will kick off at 10:00 AM at the Alameda esplanade, next to the Plaza de Toros (Bullring), with the gathering of riders and horses. At 10:30 AM, an equestrian parade will begin through the town's streets, concluding at 1:00 PM, allowing residents to enjoy the procession.
Following the parade, at 1:15 PM, the Alameda Park will host a flamenco interlude, extending the musical celebration throughout the afternoon with various flamenco performances.
The program also includes a spectacular equestrian show where riders will demonstrate their skills. For younger children, under eight years old, pony rides have been organized, an activity designed for their first contact with these animals in a festive setting.
The event, which will last until 8:00 PM, is consolidated as a day of community gathering centered around a local tradition. The organizers remind participants that each individual is responsible for their actions during the parade.
