Sports associations and entities in the municipality can apply for these grants until July 30th. The purpose of these subsidies is to support the activity of local clubs, finance their sports schools, and facilitate the participation of athletes in competitions and activities. Additionally, a specific line is included for organizing local interest sports events.
The call for applications is divided into two funding lines. The first, with a budget of 320,000 euros, is aimed at sports entities to cover expenses for sports schools and participation in competitions, both federated and non-federated. The second line, with 15,000 euros, is designated for organizing municipal sports events, considering their sporting and social impact, tradition, or economic return.
The eligible programs correspond to the 2025/2026 season, running from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The new call introduces modifications to the evaluation criteria for the first line, such as increasing the maximum score for free programs or scholarships (up to 35 points) and raising the minimum number of paying members required (from 25 to 30).
Another relevant adjustment affects the expenses section, now named 'Other expenses related to the subsidized sports activity,' which broadens the assessable concepts. These include transportation costs, repairs to municipal sports facilities, and the acquisition of sports equipment. Furthermore, more points are awarded for documenting the employment relationship of club staff.
In the sports events line, the specific evaluation of popular relevance has been removed, as it is considered to be already covered by other criteria. The Councilor for Sports, Fabiola Cebrián Pérez, highlighted the importance of these grants for the local sports sector, emphasizing the fundamental role of clubs and associations in promoting sports practice.
