The VI Alcobendas Book Fair has transformed Parque de Cataluña into a vibrant cultural hub, bringing together bookstores, cultural groups, and over a hundred writers in a free event running until Sunday, April 26.

Since Friday, Parque de Cataluña in Alcobendas has become the city's cultural epicenter with the inauguration of the VI Book Fair. This three-day event gathers bookstores, cultural collectives, and local associations, along with over a hundred writers. The fair will be open to the public until Sunday, April 26, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the morning and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the afternoon. Admission to all activities is free until capacity is reached.
This sixth edition features 16 stands hosting local bookstores, collectives, and associations, creating a space that merges commerce, culture, and community in the city's green heart. The program has been designed to be inclusive and diverse, aiming for participation from residents of all ages.
Among the scheduled activities, literary presentations and book signings stand out, offering a unique opportunity to interact directly with authors. Additionally, the offerings include storytelling for children and adults, creative workshops, quiet reading areas, live music performances, and a wide range of family activities. The main goal is to foster a meeting point between writers and readers, attracting both reading enthusiasts and those looking for new cultural experiences. The full program is available on the municipal website.

"This fair not only fills our city with stories and culture once again, but it is also a meeting place for our neighbors and visitors, a place where we can all share our love for books."

the mayor of Alcobendas
The official opening of the event was attended by the mayor of Alcobendas, accompanied by the councilor for Culture. During her speech, the mayor highlighted the fair's importance for the city, emphasizing its role as an economic and cultural driver. She also thanked all the organizers for their efforts and invited residents to enjoy the fair over the weekend.
The fair has experienced continuous growth, establishing itself as one of the most significant cultural events in the northern Madrid area. In its last edition, it attracted over 6,000 visitors, which justifies its progressive expansion in the number of stands and the variety of activities offered. The Alcobendas Book Fair is an example of how well-managed local culture is valued by citizens.
