The XIV Mineral Fair of Colmenar Viejo will take place next Saturday, September 26th, at the Magdalena Fronton, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This year, the fair dedicates a special tribute to Ángel Luis Gutiérrez (Gelo), a renowned collector and mineralogy expert whose work has been fundamental to the event's celebration over the years, and whose memory is honored after his recent passing.
Susana Jiménez Aibar, third deputy mayor and councilor for Business Development, Economy, and Employment, highlights that the fair is a meeting point for enthusiasts and the general public, promoting curiosity for geology in an accessible way. The edition invites visitors to discover the beauty of minerals through exhibition, sale, and exchange, aiming to offer an attractive experience for all ages.
The councilor also pointed out that the fair promotes values such as environmental responsibility and the conservation of natural heritage, emphasizing the importance of understanding the environment from which these unique pieces originate. The goal is to create a dynamic and participatory space for exploring and learning about the passion for minerals.
The Mineral Sales and Exchange Table will feature approximately 40 exhibitors from all over Spain, bringing together collectors and enthusiasts. Additionally, children's activities and a charity bar, with proceeds going to the social projects of the Parish of San José, have been organized.
Family activities include the exhibition, sale, and exchange of minerals, as well as children's activities organized by leisure and free time monitors from La Casa de la Juventud Municipal. These activities will run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and will include an inflatable structure for the enjoyment of the youngest attendees.
