Díaz Ayuso expressed pride in the region's selection, describing it as a place that "loves art, cinema, music, and life." The filming's presentation took place at the Sala Roja of the Teatros del Canal, where the president gifted Allen, a renowned music lover, a Spanish guitar crafted by artisan Manuel Rodríguez, who recently received the Culture Award for Historical Heritage.
The regional government will sponsor the film, recognizing the audiovisual industry as a strategic sector that significantly contributes to the regional GDP (2.2%) and generates over 7.5 billion euros in economic impact. Last year, the Community of Madrid hosted 2,100 filming events, a 10% increase from the previous year, reinforcing its cinematic appeal.
The president emphasized the film industry's role in creating quality jobs and showcasing Madrid internationally. "We are enormously proud because it allows our young people, and those from other parts of the world and new projects of any age, to gather here," she stated.
Woody Allen, a four-time Oscar-winning director and screenwriter, is known for giving prominent roles to the cities in his films, as seen in titles like Manhattan or Vicky Cristina Barcelona, thereby fostering tourism interest in the locations.
The production involves Wanda Visión, Gravier Productions Inc., and 3Six9 Studios, with support from Screen Capital and Never Summer Range. Wanda Visión will handle distribution in Spain, while Daresay and WestEnd Films will manage international sales.
