The workshop, titled “Technical Training for the Identification, Management, and Control of Ixodid Ticks: Find Them Before They Find You,” is part of the INTERCOONECTA program.
This initiative is included in a broader program on “Towards Sustainable Development in LAC: Current Challenges and Opportunities for Agriculture and Forests in the Context of Climate Change,” comprising 10 activities.
The training was conducted by Dr. Félix Valcárcel Sancho, an expert researcher in animal parasitology and tick control at CN INIA-CSIC, underscoring the institution's role in specialized training and international cooperation.
During the event, participants covered tick species identification, their distribution, biology, and ecology, as well as surveillance strategies and management and control methods, combining theoretical content with practical exercises.
