The agreement, signed in San Francisco (USA) by the Minister of Digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, and Cloudflare's President and Co-founder, Michell Zatlyn, seeks to position the region at the forefront of technology while ensuring public safety and protection.
The protocol includes the application of agentic AI and automation to streamline 1,400 administrative procedures. To ensure a secure and responsible implementation, the Madrid Digital AI Trailblazer program will be launched, targeting senior officials to train them in the use and supervision of these technologies.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to foster Madrid's technological ecosystem through a Startup Acceleration Program, offering startups access to Cloudflare services for building secure digital infrastructures and developing AI-based applications. Three training and certification editions will be held for up to 300 participants each, providing access to AI labs and personalized advice.
The agreement will also support research projects from Madrid's universities, connecting talent and entrepreneurship with AI's new possibilities. Measures will be explored to enhance the digital infrastructure and security of the Community of Madrid, including encryption and authentication systems. Both parties will also consider Cloudflare establishing a European operations hub in the region.
