This publication, which includes a selection of 15 key addresses, aims to decentralize Madrid's tourism and gastronomic offerings, in line with the Madrid Strategic Tourism Plan 2024-2027. The initiative underscores the importance of gastronomy as a primary attraction for visitors and residents, promoting the discovery of Madrid's culinary identity beyond the central areas.
“"This map is an invitation to Madrid residents and visitors to discover the districts of Madrid through gastronomy. The districts showcase the best of Madrid's culinary identity, a diverse cuisine, rooted in tradition and, at the same time, in constant innovation."
The 'Todo Madrid para comérselo' map offers a north-to-south tour of the city, combining traditional and contemporary proposals. It includes a variety of establishments such as restaurants, taverns, eateries, and market stalls, providing a current view of the capital's gastronomic landscape. Each point of interest features a description, its specialties, practical information, and a QR code for extended details.
The 15 recommendations were selected by the Madrid Gastronomy Academy and reflect the diversity of Madrid's 21 districts. These include venues that reinterpret traditional cuisine, such as Gozar Neotaberna Castiza in Latina or IN-PULSO in Arganzuela; traditional eateries like Mayser in Ciudad Lineal and Conduma in Hortaleza; international cuisine restaurants such as Pollo y Carbón in Fuencarral-El Pardo and Sen Omakase in Chamartín; and places where product quality is paramount, such as Sa Marinada in Chamberí, Amor de Bellota in Chamartín, and LaCharcuterie in Salamanca.
The guide also highlights unique personal projects like Barrera in Chamberí and the gastroteka Amets in the Centro, as well as establishments reflecting new trends, such as La Capa in Carabanchel. The selection is completed with unique addresses like La Montaña in Moncloa-Aravaca, Cocidos en Barro in San Blas-Canillejas, and Bar Manchego in Usera.
The map, available in Spanish and English, can be downloaded from Madrid's official tourism portal, esMADRID.com, and the Madrid Gastronomy Academy's website. This initiative is part of a growing collection of gastronomic maps, following the success of the Illustrated Map of Madrid Vermuterías launched the previous year. Both entities have previously collaborated on publications such as Madrid Gastro. La nueva movida and Madrid Cocktail. Memoria líquida de la capital, in addition to the 'Cómete Madrid' campaign.
