The Community of Madrid has introduced new initiatives such as SERMAS 100 and Hospital Madrid 360 to strengthen its global strategy for the care of older adults.

The Deputy Minister of Health of the Community of Madrid, Laura Gutiérrez, inaugurated the 10th Workshop for the International Day of Older Persons at the Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda public hospital. During the event, she outlined the regional government's comprehensive strategy for the care of this demographic.
Among the new initiatives presented are the SERMAS 100 project, focused on centenarians, and Hospital Madrid 360. These complement existing programs such as the Healthy Fragility and Longevity Plan and the Primary Care Senior program.
The workshops held at Puerta de Hierro included various activities and workshops. These covered topics such as nutrition, self-care, exercise, functional stimulation, and music therapy, based on the premise that growing older should not prevent one from taking care of oneself, learning, or enjoying life.
Deputy Minister Laura Gutiérrez took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the healthcare professionals working with older adults, as well as to their families and caregivers, for their essential work.
