The filing by the General Directorate of Legal Services of the Community of Madrid details chants and insults aimed directly at the regional executive's head, as well as photographs of banners and graffiti with serious threats, including wishes for her death and incitement to burn her home. The Community considers these actions potentially constitutive of crimes of threats, serious public insults, hate crimes, and damages, as defined in the Penal Code.
The complaint also covers damage to public property and elements of historical and cultural value, such as the statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, the facade of the Royal House of Correos, and the equestrian statue of Charles III. It also refers to graffiti, stickers, and vandalism that share the offensive and threatening nature against the President of the Community of Madrid, as well as damage to public lighting, lampposts, shelters, and the square's pavement, incurring repair and cleaning costs.
Consequently, the Community of Madrid requests the Provincial Prosecutor's Office to initiate the necessary proceedings to clarify the events and determine potential criminal responsibilities. Specifically, it asks for immediate access to and preservation of surveillance video recordings from Puerta del Sol and nearby establishments, as well as the compilation of police intervention reports and the identification of individuals who may have participated in these acts.
