This annual event, held simultaneously in 40 countries, will take place on the last Friday and Saturday of September in the region. The offerings are designed for all audiences and include interactive workshops, talks, games, and other activities aimed at sparking curiosity about science.
The organization in the Community of Madrid is coordinated by the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d, in collaboration with regional universities, research centers of the CSIC, and the Madrileño Institutes of Advanced Studies (IMDEA).
Among the highlighted activities, the IMDEA institutes and the Community of Madrid Firefighters will present a talk at the Residencia de Estudiantes on how science can aid in responding to natural disasters. The Complutense University of Madrid will host a workshop on comics, while the Polytechnic University of Madrid will focus on manufacturing an electrical energy storage system using graphene.
The Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d is also organizing two events at the Círculo de Bellas Artes: the play “Dare to Know” (“Atrévete a saber”), designed to foster scientific interest in young people, and a science fair open to the general public in the afternoon.
