EMVS Madrid's budget for 2027, approved yesterday by the municipal company's Board of Directors, amounts to 199.6 million euros. The total investment will exceed 208 million, which will be allocated to the development of approximately 9,000 public housing units that will be in various stages of construction or tender throughout the year.
The municipal company will have 29 developments with nearly 5,100 homes under execution, to which 16 developments from the Suma Vivienda Plan (Phases I and II) with about 2,500 homes will be added. Furthermore, the third phase of the Suma Vivienda Plan is planned for contracting to build over 1,400 affordable rental housing units.
It is estimated that EMVS Madrid will begin the construction of 1,942 homes in Vicálvaro, Barajas, Tetuán, and Arganzuela during 2027, projecting to end the year with a portfolio exceeding 10,500 homes. The Madrid City Council will transfer land valued at 91 million euros for the construction of 7 new developments with over 2,000 homes in the Valdecarros, Ermita del Santo, Las Tablas, and Carabanchel areas.
In addition to new construction, EMVS Madrid will allocate 12.9 million euros to the 'We Buy Your Home' program to increase its portfolio by purchasing apartments. The 'Recovery of Vacant Housing' (ReViVa) program will also be boosted with 3.8 million, aiming to incorporate 50 vacant homes into the affordable rental market.
Other rental incentive programs, such as the Rental Intermediation Service (SIA), which connects available housing with renters, will receive over 200,000 euros, with an estimated incorporation of 250 new homes.
