The OWLA team, composed of students from the public institute in Madrid, secured third place in the Knockouts category, a pure speed test. Their prototype finished just 14 thousandths of a second behind the winning car from Saudi Arabia. The students' trip to Singapore was fully funded by the Regional Ministry of Education, Science and Universities.
Stem Racing is an educational program that challenges students to design, build, and compete with a scale Formula 1 car. The aim is to develop skills in engineering, design, communication, and project management, fostering young talent in these areas.
The Community of Madrid, through the STEM Racing Spain program, promotes these initiatives for students to gain practical knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The program seeks to enhance practical experience, decision-making, and teamwork.
Organized in Spain by the MADCUP Foundation, this program contributes to sparking scientific-technological vocations and reinforces the role of the Community of Madrid in developing key 21st-century skills.
