The return to Madrid marks a new chapter in the career of Dr. Íñigo Aragón Niño, a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Trained through the MIR program at La Paz University Hospital, he was recognized in 2024 with the End of Residency Award from the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial and Head and Neck Surgery. Shortly after, he began a period of international training with the aim of expanding his experience in two areas that, although they may seem distant at first glance, share common ground: facial reconstruction and aesthetic facial surgery.
A year in one of Asia's leading reconstruction centers
The first stage took him to Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, an internationally renowned university center and one of the hospitals with the highest activity in microsurgical reconstruction of the head and neck. There, he undertook a fellowship of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons under the direction of Professor Yue He.
Over twelve months, he participated in more than 500 surgical interventions and 374 free flap reconstructions, procedures in which tissues are transferred from one part of the body to another and their circulation is restored through microsurgery. In 116 of these cases, he acted as the primary surgeon, working on reconstructions of the forearm, thigh, and fibula for complex defects of the face and jaws.

From reconstruction to facial plastic surgery
After his time in China, Dr. Aragón focused his training on facial plastic surgery. He joined a refinement program with Dr. Nabil Fakih, concentrating on procedures such as blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, deep facial lifting, canthopexy, lip lift, and lipofilling. The training included intensive surgical activity and advanced anatomical training in various European and international settings.
This journey has allowed him to develop a vision that connects two extremes of facial surgery. On one hand, reconstruction teaches how to restore structure, function, and volume in situations of maximum complexity. On the other, aesthetic surgery demands precision, sensitivity to proportions, and respect for individual features.

Back in Madrid, Dr. Íñigo Aragón practices maxillofacial surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, and aesthetic medicine. He is part of the surgical activity at Hospital Ruber Internacional and also sees patients at Clínica Niño Aragón, a family clinic with over three decades of experience in aesthetic medicine.
His approach is based on a simple idea: not all aesthetic problems should be solved with the same type of treatment. Medical-surgical training allows for the evaluation of bone, soft tissues, musculature, skin, and function before deciding whether the patient can benefit from a non-surgical procedure, an intervention, or no action at all.
“Having medical and surgical tools expands the options, but it also requires greater prudence. The goal is not to perform more procedures, but to indicate them better,” he explains. This philosophy translates into personalized and staged plans, with special attention to naturalness, safety, and the realistic expectations of each patient.
Clinical training, research, and international vision
In addition to his MIR specialization, he holds a doctorate cum laude from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master's in Aesthetic, Regenerative, and Anti-aging Medicine, and European accreditation FEBOMFS. He also maintains research and teaching activities in oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a particular interest in reconstruction, facial anatomy, and new techniques applied to facial treatment.
