The Community of Madrid is promoting independent living for 60 people with intellectual disabilities at the Las Fuentes Residential Complex, located in the Hortaleza district of the capital.

This facility, which offers public places and is managed by the Inclusión y Apoyo APROCOR Foundation, is structured as a neighborhood community around a central landscaped courtyard. Each resident decides and develops their own life project, participating in local activities and the neighborhood's occupational center.
During her visit, the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Affairs, Ana Dávila, highlighted that in this environment, “each resident sets their own pace and builds their life project, in an atmosphere of community and mutual support”.
The regional government annually funds the 144 places in APROCOR's two occupational centers and the 60 places at the Las Fuentes Residential Complex with 2.8 million euros. At Las Fuentes, residents live in independent apartments with single rooms.
