The Community of Madrid has approved an increase of 1.5 million euros in aid from the Pueblos con Vida program, bringing the total allocation to 12 million euros for 2026, aimed at the improvement and beautification of municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.

The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has greenlit the increase in subsidies for the improvement and beautification of municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. With this injection of 1.5 million euros, the Pueblos con Vida program will reach a total allocation of 12 million euros in 2026.
The eligible actions cover a wide range of projects, including the renovation of facades and roofs of municipal buildings, the conditioning of streets, squares, and urban green spaces, and the acquisition of urban furniture. Funding will also be allocated to burying electrical and telephone networks, as well as interventions on railway crossings.
Since its launch two years ago, this subsidy line has mobilized 23 million euros and has benefited 136 localities. Among the financed projects are the repair of the Town Hall of Belmonte de Tajo and improvements to the Plaza de la Constitución and the Plaza Mayor of El Boalo, Cerceda y Mataelpino.
Furthermore, the adaptation of recreational areas in the parks of La Dehesilla and Calle Real, in Collado Mediano; the creation of a green path in the Cerro de la Corneja Forest Park, in El Molar; and the rehabilitation of the environment of the Town Hall and the Plaza del Olmo, in Olmeda de las Fuentes, are planned.
