The far-right party, Vox, is at the minimum threshold to maintain its municipal group in the Madrid City Council, with two councilors: Arantxa Cabello and Fernando Martínez Vidal. This contrasts with the three councilors who will become unaffiliated: Javier Ortega Smith, Ignacio Ansaldo, and Carla Toscano.
According to Article 29 of the Organic Regulations of the Plenary (ROP), each candidacy can form a municipal group if it has at least two councilors, with the exception of the Mixed Group. Representatives who do not reach this minimum will be integrated into said group. However, Ortega Smith, Ansaldo, and Toscano will become unaffiliated councilors.
This change is expected to take effect in September, with the resumption of activity in the commissions and the municipal Plenary. Ansaldo and Toscano have already communicated their intention to withdraw the precautionary measures they had requested against their expulsion from Vox.
