A fire that broke out early this morning in an apartment in the Ciudad Lineal district of Madrid has left three people with minor smoke inhalation injuries and caused significant material damage.

The incident occurred around 2:50 AM at a building located at number 72 Calle Lago Constanza. Six units from the Madrid City Council Fire Department were deployed to the scene to extinguish the flames and secure the area.
The fire completely destroyed the apartment where it started, spreading to the facade and damaging the exterior woodwork of the upper floors. Due to the heavy smoke in the stairwell, emergency crews instructed residents to remain in their homes while they inspected the building.
SAMUR-Civil Protection medical staff treated three people for minor smoke inhalation, who were subsequently taken to Gregorio Marañón Hospital for further care. Officers from the Municipal Police and the National Police also participated in the operation.
