The Madrid City Council confirmed this Monday that a councilor has joined the non-attached group following a resolution by the Plenary Presidency.

The decision was formalized after the courts rejected the precautionary measures filed to stop the councilor's expulsion from their political party. The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, ratified this change of status during an event held at the Serrería Belga.
Regarding the internal organization of the affected municipal group, the Plenary Presidency stated that it is not appropriate to make changes to the spokesperson position, as the request submitted by the party was filed after the deadline established following the court ruling.
The mayor expressed concern over the judicialization of municipal political activity. He noted that internal disputes should not interfere with the institution's normal operations, urging representatives to find solutions that allow the City Council to function properly.
