The National Police has dismantled a robbery ring operating in Madrid gyms, arresting two individuals involved in stealing valuables from lockers, with recovered loot exceeding 8,400 euros.

Agents of the National Police have successfully arrested two individuals in Madrid, accused of repeatedly stealing valuables from lockers in various sports centers across the capital. The operation led to the recovery of goods valued at over 8,400 euros and the clarification of nearly twenty criminal acts.
One of the arrested, a man, is under investigation for an alleged continuous crime of robbery with force, while the woman is attributed a possible crime of receiving stolen goods. The investigation began after multiple complaints were filed over the past two years regarding thefts in gym changing rooms in Madrid.
According to police sources, the main suspect would enter sports centers and briefly participate in an activity to avoid detection. Subsequently, he would position himself in the changing rooms to observe the items users stored in their lockers. Once the victims were selected, he would force the padlocks to steal valuable effects.
Police inquiries led to the identification of the suspect. On March 23, a search was conducted at the premises he managed in the Latina district, as well as at his home. Numerous electronic devices were found in both locations, including computers, mobile phones, headphones, tablets, and speakers.
In addition to technology, agents seized watches, wallets, sports clothing, and approximately 2,000 euros in cash. The total value of the recovered items exceeds 8,400 euros. Thanks to this police intervention, a total of 19 robberies have been solved, and the stolen goods have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
