Cercanías Madrid has announced the introduction of four additional trains on line C-4, connecting Chamartín with Cantoblanco, to facilitate student travel to the Autonomous University of Madrid campus during the PAU exams, scheduled for June 1, 2, 3, and 4.
The reinforcement will focus on peak demand hours: from 8:00 AM for exam entry and at 5:55 PM for the return journey after the afternoon tests. This measure aims to ensure no student arrives late or misses a train.
With these four extra trains, line C-4 will add approximately 6,300 additional daily seats, representing a significant capacity increase to handle the expected passenger surge. Cercanías Madrid implements similar reinforcements for major events or large academic convocations.
The Autonomous University campus in Cantoblanco, while usually well-connected, experiences a notable increase in users during the PAU, including not only examinees but also their companions. The goal is to prevent overcrowding and unnecessary waits, particularly at Chamartín station.
The initiative is primarily designed to provide students with peace of mind during a crucial academic moment, ensuring timely and stress-free travel. Regular users of line C-4 are advised to anticipate a higher passenger volume during these dates.
