This Sunday, Madrid hosts the third edition of the Madrid with ALS Race, a sporting and solidarity event that will run along the Paseo de la Castellana to raise funds against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

The Paseo de la Castellana will be the setting this Sunday, June 14, for the third edition of the Madrid with ALS Race. The competition, organized by the Spanish Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (AdELA) and the Madrid City Council, has the primary objective of raising funds for the fight against this neurodegenerative disease.
Participants, aged 14 and over, can register until next June 12 through the official website. The main race will cover a distance of five kilometers, starting at 9:00 AM from the Paseo de la Castellana, near Rosario Pino street. The route will conclude at the finish line located opposite the start, after turning at Gregorio Marañón street.
In addition to the competitive race, a non-competitive 400-meter category, called the 'superation race,' has been organized for people with disabilities of all ages. This initiative includes a t-shirt, a runner's bag, and a medal for all participants. Concurrently, a 'Fila 0' (Row 0) has been set up for those who wish to contribute financially without actively participating in the race, with all proceeds going to AdELA's projects.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is the third most common neurodegenerative disease in Spain, surpassed only by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. In the 2025 edition, over 3,000 runners participated in this solidarity initiative, successfully raising significant funds to support both patients and their families.
