The Government Delegation in Madrid has recommended that companies and workers consider teleworking between June 3rd and 9th, coinciding with the Pope's visit, to mitigate potential mobility disruptions.

The Delegation of the Government of Spain in Madrid, following guidelines from the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, has issued a recommendation for companies, public administrations, and workers to plan their work activities. It suggests considering remote work during the first week of June, specifically between the 3rd and 9th, in anticipation of significant mobility disruptions that could arise from the visit of His Holiness the Pope to the capital.
This recommendation is particularly aimed at workplaces located in areas likely to be affected by security measures, traffic restrictions, access limitations, or recommendations to avoid non-essential travel. The objective is to facilitate daily operations and minimize disruptions.
In cases where security and mobility measures may hinder access to workplaces, the Government Delegation urges companies to facilitate teleworking, provided the nature of the activity allows it and the necessary technical means are available. This measure is supported by Article 37.3 g) of the Workers' Statute, which allows for this service modality in exceptional situations, in compliance with Law 10/2021 on remote work.
Furthermore, citizens are advised to prioritize public transport, plan their journeys in advance, and avoid non-essential travel within central Madrid, especially in areas and during times that may be affected by security arrangements.
The purpose of these guidelines is to safeguard the safety of workers and citizens, reduce unnecessary travel, optimize urban mobility, and ensure the smooth running of services and events scheduled during the papal visit.
Therefore, the importance of employers and workers adopting preventive organizational measures is reiterated, including the option to voluntarily agree on remote work during periods of anticipated major mobility incidents.

"We appreciate the collaboration of citizens, companies, public administrations, and social entities in facilitating the smooth development of the planned operations and ensuring safety during the scheduled events."
