The Sol station of Cercanías Madrid will remain closed this Saturday and Sunday, as well as on several other weekends until June, due to tunnel improvement works. This closure will affect lines C-3, C-4a, and C-4b.
Trains on the C-3 line originating from Aranjuez will terminate their route at Atocha. For the C-4 line, trains coming from Colmenar Viejo and Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes will end at Nuevos Ministerios, while those departing from Parla will conclude at Atocha, as reported by Renfe.
Travelers needing to commute between Nuevos Ministerios and Atocha can use lines C-2, C-7, C-8, and C-10, which use the Recoletos tunnel and stop at Recoletos station.
The closure of Sol will be repeated on the weekends of May 23-24, May 30-31, June 13-14, and June 20-21. However, the station will be open between June 6 and June 9, coinciding with a planned event, to facilitate mobility due to the expected high volume of travelers.
Renfe will inform affected users through public address announcements and station staff. The works aim to improve the capacity of lines C-3 and C-4 in the Sol tunnel and are part of improvement efforts for line C-5.
