The spokesperson for the Socialist Municipal Group in the Madrid City Council has confirmed her intention to run in the PSOE primaries to compete for the Mayoralty of Madrid in the 2027 elections.

The socialist leader announced her candidacy from the Teatro Real, reaffirming her desire to lead the municipal list and challenge the Popular Party's government.

"Madrid needs to change course."

According to the spokesperson, her three years in opposition have provided valuable experience at the local level and a deep understanding of the city. She believes that Madrid residents deserve a change of direction after "too many years" of policies that, in her opinion, benefit a minority rather than the social majority.
The socialist leader has highlighted the "Agenda for Change" developed by the PSOE in Madrid, describing it as a "turning point" against the current administration. She accuses the municipal government of maintaining a "wrong course" in its priorities.
The spokesperson will run in the primaries "with great enthusiasm," as she did in 2023, and has expressed confidence in gaining majority support within the party. Her candidacy is part of the preparations for the municipal elections in May 2027.
