The Community of Madrid has launched a labor and Social Security advisory service and a car-sharing system with a 90% discount for the nearly 47,000 residents affected by recent fires in the Sierra Oeste.

The Community of Madrid is providing labor and Social Security advice to employers, self-employed individuals, and workers affected by the fires in the Sierra Oeste. Additionally, a temporary car-sharing service has been implemented to facilitate daily travel for residents during the reconstruction phase.
The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, visited the Tourist Office in Cadalso de los Vidrios, one of the advisory points set up in the affected municipalities. This specialized resource assists local workers and companies in resolving labor-related queries, offering guidance on benefits, subsidies, public aid, Social Security, labor files, and measures for flexibility and job retention.
The in-person service operates from Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at municipal facilities, supplemented by telephone support (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) and online services.
The regional government is allocating 100,000 euros to the temporary car-sharing service, which will be progressively rolled out to 17 towns, starting with Cadalso de los Vidrios and Cenicientos. The initial fleet will consist of up to 35 vehicles and will be available for three months, coinciding with the recovery phase.
Users can book vehicles through the Voltio mobile app, with rates of 4 euros for four hours or 8 euros for eight hours, representing a 90% discount compared to standard tariffs. Cars must be returned to the same pickup point.
This measure aims to ensure access to essential services such as health centers, workplaces, pharmacies, and shops for individuals who lost their vehicles due to the fires.
The service is part of broader reconstruction efforts, including aid of up to 10,000 euros for affected businesses (funded by a 15 million euro line) and a program of free guarantees for companies and self-employed individuals. Furthermore, a 100% bonus will be applied to Inheritance and Gift Tax and to Onerous Property Transfer Tax for the acquisition of properties and vehicles to replace those damaged.
