A large column of smoke rose over Madrid's Vicálvaro district on Tuesday afternoon following a fire at an open-air plot used for storing scrap metal and debris.

The fire started around 4:30 PM in a plot located on Calle Pirotecnia. Eleven units from the Madrid City Council Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and worked intensely to control the flames.
