In this context, a political group has submitted a Non-Legislative Proposal (PNL) to the Madrid Assembly. The main request is for Vallecas Stadium to open its doors, allowing fans to watch the second leg of the tie, and a potential final, on giant screens installed inside the venue.
“"To immediately mediate with the club and competent authorities so that, both for the second leg of the semifinals and for a hypothetical final, giant screens are installed inside Vallecas Stadium for fans to follow the matches from their stadium."
The initiative aims to "foster community spirit and support for the team in a publicly owned venue." Additionally, the proposal urges the regional public television, Telemadrid, to make the necessary arrangements to broadcast the semifinal matches and a potential final live, ensuring access to this historic event for all citizens of Madrid.
The text also includes criticisms of the "negligent management" by the club's leadership and the "institutional abandonment" by the Community of Madrid, which owns the stadium. It highlights the "lack of investment" and the "deterioration" of Vallecas Stadium, a situation that, according to the proposal, affects both the dignity and safety of the fans.
While the regional government has not directly commented on this request, they have emphasized recent investments in the venue. These improvements include optimizing access points, installing new roofs, and restoring facades, among other actions.
