Renfe has commenced the comprehensive renovation of the underpass at Las Rozas station, investing 152,775 euros to optimize the accessibility, safety, and durability of its facilities.

The works, with an estimated execution period of 4.5 months, will be carried out without disrupting the station's normal operation. Perimeter fencing and specific signage will be implemented to guide travelers during the construction.
Planned interventions include the installation of new water collection grates, the removal of an added step at the start of both staircases, sealing of structural joints, and pavement regularization. Furthermore, the finishes of the entrances, stairs, and the underpass interior will be completely renewed, replacing railings and handrails according to current regulations and incorporating warning and tactile guidance pavements.
The lighting will be entirely replaced with linear luminaires to ensure adequate accessibility levels, and exposed ductwork will be relocated to a new false ceiling.
This project in Las Rozas is part of the Plan A Punto in the Comunidad de Madrid, marking the second initiative of this program in the region following the improvements started at Galapagar-La Navata station. The plan has a total budget of 4.8 million euros for rapid and visible enhancements to several Cercanías and Ancho Métrico stations.
The first group of simultaneous works in Cercanías Madrid includes improvements in five stations: Galapagar (started June 1st, estimated 7.5 months), Las Rozas (underpass, 4.5 months), Guadalajara (concourse, 4.5 months), Pirámides (concourse and access, 4.5 months), and Nuevos Ministerios (roof repair and exterior improvements, 4.5 months).
The Plan A Punto identifies interventions of low technical complexity with a high return on the perception of service quality, aiming to increase the standards of quality, accessibility, and comfort in stations. This national plan will be developed across 110 Cercanías and Ancho Métrico stations between 2026 and 2027, with a global investment of 24.8 million euros.
